Description
This tea was made from old tea trees over 40 years old on a tea plantation in Guanyang town. The leaves were harvested in the spring of 2016, using the one bud and two leaves picking standard of second-grade Bai Mu Dan. Guanyang is considered one of the best micro-regions of Fuding for producing the highest quality white tea. Before being compressed into the biscuit shape (around 5 grams each), this tea was stored in loose-leaf form in a relatively dry condition. Bai Mu Dan (白牡丹, lit. White Peony) is made of silvery buds and tender young leaves (typically one to two leaves). In terms of picking standard, it is ranked after Silver Needle which is made solely of buds. Bai Mu Dan is popular among white drinkers, since its taste is slightly stronger and more floral than Silver Needle, yet remains balanced, sweet, and refreshing.
