Description
Shou Mei (寿眉, lit. Longevity Eyebrow) got its name because of its crescent shape resembling an old man's eyebrow. Made of naturally withered tips, leaves, and sometimes stems, it is regarded as the fourth grade of white tea after Bai Hao Yin Zhen, Bai Mu Dan, and Gong Mei. This grade of white tea benefits from its coarser leaves and stems, having the greatest potential for aging among other grades. Leaves and stems contain rich content and flavor, and the spacing of the stems allows more airflow and ultimately a greater level of oxidation and fermentation. This is an aged Shou Mei from 4 years ago, which can be compared with another fresh Shou Mei in our tea club.
