Description
This 2021 Autumn Harvest Shou Mei was picked in mid-September, during the second key harvest season for Fuding white tea. While spring-harvested white teas are often more highly prized for their delicacy and freshness, the more affordable autumn-harvested teas develop a richer body, warmer aroma, and deeper flavor—making them particularly well-suited for aging and daily enjoyment. Crafted from the Fuding Da Hao cultivar using the one bud, multiple leaves picking standard, this Shou Mei features a natural blend of mature leaves, buds, and stems. After harvest, the leaves were naturally withered and stored as loose leaf under dry conditions before being compressed into biscuit-shaped pieces (~5g each) in August 2024, preserving the tea’s aging potential while offering convenient portioning for brewing. Shou Mei (寿眉), or “Longevity Eyebrow,” is named for the distinctive crescent shape of its mature leaves. Known for its mellow sweetness and rounded character, this autumn batch yields a smooth, earthy brew with subtle notes of dried fruit, hay, and honeyed wood—offering comfort, complexity, and excellent value for those exploring the world of aged white tea.
