Description
Ziyang Maojian (紫阳毛尖) is a rare green tea from Ziyang County in Ankang, Shaanxi, an area renowned for its naturally selenium-rich soils. This unique characteristic not only enhances the tea’s potential health benefits but also contributes to its distinct flavor profile. Harvested on March 24, following the "one bud, one leaf" plucking standard, this early spring tea embodies the season’s freshness and represents the highest quality of this style. Grown in the foothills of the Daba Mountains, where the climate is ideal for tea cultivation, Ziyang Maojian thrives in an environment of moderate rainfall, cool summers, and mild winters. The cooler climate in central China slows the growth of the tea plants, allowing them to develop richer and more complex flavors over time. Ziyang Maojian is known for its slender, needle-like leaves covered in fine white hairs. When brewed, the leaves produce a bright, emerald-green liquor with a floral fragrance and a fresh, mellow taste. The selenium in the soil contributes to the tea’s reputation as a health tonic, offering potential benefits for digestion and immune support. Ziyang Maojian is perfect for those seeking a refreshing, invigorating green tea with subtle sweetness and a smooth, lingering finish.
