Gushu Sheng Pu'er from Hutu

We're featuring 5 Gushu Sheng Puerh curated by Vincent from his trip to Yunnan province in late March and early April. All the tea trees where these teas come from are around 200 years or older, and that's why we put in the names "gushu", meaning ancient trees. Sheng puerh (or raw puerh) is produced in Yunnan, China and is able to ferment naturally over time. When discussing puerh, the terroir is crucial. The origin of each tea is included in their names: Xigui and Xiaohusai are located in the Lincang region, while Bulang and Naka are from the Menghai region. A common saying about puerh's terroir is that "(Puerh from) each village offers a different flavor". By tasting and comparing these 5 teas, you will gain more understanding about terroir's impact on sheng puerh and the differences between each terroir. We picked teas from 2018, 2019, and 2020 because fresh sheng puerh might be too strong and stimulating to some people. As sheng puerh gradually ages, it becomes more mellow and smooth, as well as more valuable. Many puerh enthusiats stock up sheng puerh cakes and bricks for future, and we have also prepared some extra cakes in case you would like to order more.
