Description
The 2022 Da Xue Shan GuShu Raw Pu-erh is a standout selection from the high-altitude tea gardens of Bangdong in Lincang, where tea trees grow wild at over 2000 meters above sea level. In early spring, the tea is harvested from ancient trees surrounded by old-growth forests, far from human habitation, allowing the trees to thrive in a pristine environment.
This tea is processed using traditional methods—withered, pan-fried, rolled, sun-dried, and hand-rolled into dragon balls—to preserve its natural purity. Da Xue Shan, or "Big Snow Mountain," is known for producing pu-erh with a distinctive floral, sweet, and clean profile.
The high altitude and remote location contribute to the tea’s vibrant huigan (returning sweetness) and long-lasting aroma. The crisp, clear liquor and serene yet invigorating taste of this tea make it a favorite among those who appreciate the delicate complexity of Lincang’s pu-erh. The combination of high elevation, ancient trees, and meticulous processing results in a tea that is both refined and robust.
My first ever raw pu-erh. It was enjoyable but modest and a bit difficult to understand.

This was an okay one for me. Very subtle in all aspects making it complex and difficult to understand the notes.

This is a light balanced, easy drinking tea. Not a particularly memorable tea for me, but still a nice session.
I only used half of the tea ball in my 150 ml Gaiwan.

This is very light tea, with balanced flavors. Notes of pear and apple, some hay and green tea notes in the middle and a hint if bitter in the first infusions with a floral finish.… more
