Description
This 2023 Spring Bai Mu Dan “White Peony” was picked in April 2023 from Guanyang Town, grown at 680m+. It is a 3rd grade Bai Mu Dan and follows a classic Bai Mu Dan direction: more leaf presence than bud-only white teas, while still retaining bud sweetness and fragrance. The tea is compressed into dragon balls (~5g each). This is a practical format for both storage and brewing: one ball is designed as a complete portion for a gaiwan or small teapot, opening gradually across infusions and giving you a clear sense of how the tea evolves from aromatic top notes into deeper sweetness. The producer describes it as “毫香蜜甜” (Hao Xiang Mi Tian)—a profile that often translates to downy bud fragrance (soft, airy aromatics from the fine hairs on the buds) paired with a clean, nectar-like sweetness. Early steeps tend to be bright and floral, and as the ball opens further, the liquor becomes rounder and more layered, with a lingering sweetness that stays on the palate.
