Description
Bai Lin Gong Fu (白琳工夫) is one of Fujian’s traditional Gongfu black teas, commonly grouped alongside Tan Yang Gong Fu and Zheng He Gong Fu as the province’s three representative Gongfu black styles. This 2025 spring batch comes from Panxi’s Hulin core area, made from Fuding Da Bai and harvested on April 10, 2025. The garden is described as semi-abandoned and low-intervention, with minimal human management and little to no chemical input, and the bushes are harvested only twice a year—in spring and autumn. With slower growth and lower yields, the material is often valued for its concentration and quality. The picking standard is one bud, two leaves, then crafted with traditional Gongfu black tea methods and finished with gentle, low-fire drying to preserve fragrance while building sweetness. In the cup, classic Bai Lin Gong Fu is often summarized as “downy fragrance and lively freshness, bright red liquor, sweet mellow taste”—and that’s exactly the direction this tea aims for: a lifted top note (especially in early infusions), a clear red-orange brightness, and a finish that stays sweet and clean rather than heavy.
