Description
Plucked on May 1, 2025 from the 630 m crest of Shimen Village in Anxi’s Gande Township, this tea captures Tie Guan Yin’s (铁观音) delicate, high‑floral personality. The bushes—heirloom Hong Xin Wai Wei Tao—are tended under fully ecological, organic management: no synthetic pesticides or herbicides, with shade plants and native groundcover supporting a balanced ecosystem. Minimal oxidation and only the lightest finishing bake protect the cultivar’s signature orchid‑lilac fragrance. Emerald pearls unfurl into a pale‑jade liquor that feels cool and silky, offering airy sweetness and refreshing clarity that lingers well after each sip. Compared with the autumn Zheng Wei from our December 2024 club, this spring batch carries a richer body, illustrating seasonal differences of the same tea style. Crafted through sun‑withering, alternating tossing and resting, quick high‑heat fixation, gentle rolling, and an ultra‑light bake, this Zheng Wei presents a pure window onto Hong Xin Wai Wei Tao’s elegant side for anyone who loves fragrance‑driven oolongs.
