Black Tea

Xianning, Hubei Province, China

Qun Ti Zhong

Steeping instructions
We recommend using the pourover style by placing the tea leaves on top of a tea strainer and slowly pouring boiling water (100˚C / 212˚F). Alternatively, you can use the Gongfu style, Western style, or boiling style like with other black or compressed teas, but remember to use a strainer because these leaves are small.
Description
Mi Zhuan literally means rice brick, and it got this name because it’s made of smashed black tea leaves. Unlike dust and fannings from tea bags, these tea leaves are of excellent quality. This unique black brick tea was invented in the 1870s using special processing techniques. It was an extremely popular export product and nowadays is also consumed domestically. Mi Zhuan products often display different patterns on the brick surface, and sometimes they are collected as artworks. The liquor color is brightly dark red, and it has an aromatic character and an agreeable taste. It can be aged, and this specific tea brick is from 2015, one of the best quality Mi Zhuan teas on the market.
