Description
The Yongchun Foshou (Buddha's Hand) tea tree, characterized as a large-leaf shrub, unfolds with a tree structure resembling the fingers of Buddha's Hand citron, hence its name "Foshou". Buddha's Hand is originally a fragrant and enticing precious citrus fruit. The tea leaves earn their association with Buddha's Hand not only due to the striking resemblance of their leaves to the citron but also the unique fragrance reminiscent of the distinctive aroma of Buddha's Hand citron. The tea tree boasts a towering crown, featuring leaves as large as a palm, elliptical in shape with a blunt apex. The leaves exude a glossy yellow-green hue, with sparse serrations along the leaf edges. Analyzing the current distribution and historical transmission, it's evident that the cultivation history of Yongchun Foshou tea in Yongchun spans at least three centuries. Yongchun Foshou tea showcases tight, coiled strands that are robust and plump. The color is a lustrous dark green, and the aroma is rich and enduring. The golden and bright liquor offers a taste that is mellow, robust, sweet, fresh, and leaves a lingering aftertaste. It is renowned as one of the three famous southern Fujian oolongs, alongside Zhang Ping Shui Xian and Bai Ya Qi Lan.
