Southern Fujian Oolongs

In our November 2022 tea club, we introduced four oolong teas from Anxi County, celebrated as the "tea capital of China." Yet, Anxi is just one gem in the tapestry of southern Fujian Province, a region steeped in a tea culture as vibrant and diverse as that found in the renowned Wuyishan to the north, famed for its rock oolongs. During late April and early May, our curator Vincent spent 10 days in southern Fujian, watching tea-processing competitions, visiting tea mountains, and sourcing premium tea and teawares. Therefore, we came up with this edition of our tea club, bringing to you four rare oolong teas. These distinctive oolong teas are from diverse regions – Anxi, Yongchun, Zhangping, and Pinghe – each a testament to the artistry of experienced tea masters and our meticulous selection process. While the Da Ye Oolong is produced in the autumn, the others are spring harvests, each possessing its own character. Notably, the Zhang Ping Shui Xian stands out as the only tightly pressed, paper-packed oolongs, compared with many others that are ball-rolled.
