Description
Grown near Wuliang Mountain’s famous Cherry Blossom Valley, this high-mountain oolong comes from tea gardens situated around 2280 meters, an area prized for its cool climate, clean air, and forested slopes. Traditionally known for large-leaf Yunnan teas, Wuliangshan has in recent two decades proven exceptionally well-suited to cultivating oolong cultivars, producing teas with pronounced aroma, clarity, and structure. Made from the Taiwanese Qingxin oolong cultivar, this tea invites natural comparison with Taiwanese high-mountain oolongs, while offering a distinctly Yunnan expression shaped by elevation, sunlight, and local ecology. Harvested in late April 2025, the leaves are carefully hand-plucked using a one bud and three to four leaf standard, selecting shoots with both maturity and elasticity. The tea follows a traditional oolong process: sun withering outdoors to awaken aroma, controlled indoor resting and gentle agitation to regulate oxidation along the leaf edges, high-temperature fixing to halt oxidation, and repeated wrapping, rolling, loosening, and roasting to build structure and stability. In the cup, it presents a clean floral fragrance, gentle sweetness, and a smooth, lingering finish—an elegant example of Yunnan high-mountain oolong.
