Aged White Tea
We are thrilled to bring you our third dedicated exploration of white tea, featuring four exceptional teas aged between 5 to 10 years. White tea, one of the most delicate tea varieties, is known for its minimal processing and subtle flavors. Originating from Fujian Province, white tea is prized for its purity and health benefits. Fuding, located in the northeastern part of Fujian Province, is the most famous tea region known for producing white tea. Fuding has a long-standing reputation for producing some of the finest white teas in the world. The traditional methods used by Fuding tea farmers, combined with the region’s natural advantages, result in teas that are rich in flavor and history. These four teas are all sourced from the core regions within Fuding, ensuring you experience the best of what this renowned area has to offer. For ease of brewing, we have carefully chosen compressed white teas in the shapes of dragon balls, chocolate bars, biscuits, and mini-cakes: - The Loquat Flower White Tea was sourced during Vincent’s recent trip. This Shou Mei grade tea is delicately mixed with loquat flowers, a type of traditional Chinese medicine, adding a subtle, fruity fragrance to its natural sweetness. - There are two aged Shou Mei teas from the spring 2014 and autumn 2016 harvests for your comparison. The spring harvest boasts a vibrant profile with notes of honey and floral undertones. In contrast, the autumn harvest offers a warmer flavor with a thicker texture, perfect for a more reflective sip. - Floral Bai Mu Dan “White Peony” is a higher-grade white tea that’s harvested earlier with tender leaves and buds. Over five years of aging, it has developed a captivating floral aroma.
